35000 enjoy World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow

Around 35,000 people gathered in Glasgow to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the World Pipe Band Championships. The two-day event at Glasgow Green culminated on Saturday with Inverary and District Pipe Band being named the World Pipe Band 

A Scottish band has triumphed at the World Pipe Band Championships, fighting off a strong challenge from last year's Northern Irish victors. Inveraray and District Pipe Band won the contest, beating Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band who came second.

St-Patrick's-pipe-band Congratulations to St.Patrick's pipe band, Wicklow have qualified for the World Pipe Band Championship final. The band are due to play again just before 4pm. We will keep you updated on how they get on. The finals are being held …
